JOB DESCRIPTION: Outreach & Evangelism Minister
JOB OVERVIEW:
Wonderful Gospel Ministries (WGM), based in Birmingham, is a vibrant and fast-growing Church of God serving a multi-ethnic community in the United Kingdom. We are seeking a committed and Spirit-filled Minister of Religion to join our team as an Outreach & Evangelism Minister. This role requires a dedicated, born-again Christian with a passion for spreading the Gospel and equipping others for ministry.
- Salary: £20,930 per year
- Hours: 35+ hours per week, including weekends.
PRIMARY ROLE:
The Outreach & Evangelism Minister will work closely with the Lead Minister to champion and implement the church’s vision for outreach and evangelism.
FUNCTIONS AND AUTHORITY:
The successful candidate will lead and oversee WGM’s Outreach & Evangelism Team, ensuring alignment with the church’s mission.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leadership and Oversight:
- Provide leadership in evangelism under the guidance of the Lead Minister.
- Oversee the Outreach & Evangelism Team, ensuring its effectiveness and growth.
- Training and Equipping:
- Teach, train, and mentor team members to share the Gospel effectively.
- Equip congregants to evangelize within their spheres of influence.
- Discipleship:
- Meet with congregation members to encourage spiritual growth and maturity.
- Preaching and Teaching:
- Preach and teach the Bible in accordance with WGM’s doctrinal statement during Sunday services and other church events as needed.
- Administrative Support:
- Assist with church office administration tasks as required.

- Cultural Awareness:

- Knowledge of additional languages such as Hausa or Yoruba is a plus.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Degree or diploma in theology (required).
- Ministerial ordination certificate (required).
- At least three years of ministry experience in a Pentecostal church is advantageous.
- Proficiency in English (essential).

THE ROLE
As a Charity Workers Volunteer, you will support the Lead Minister, ministry team and other volunteers in the day-to-day activities of Wonderful Gospel Ministries.
You will contribute to the smooth running of church services, community activities, outreach events and ministry programmes while helping to create a welcoming, respectful and Christ-centred environment.
The role is practical, people-focused and varied. It is particularly suited to someone who is dependable, approachable, willing to learn and passionate about serving others.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Church Services and Hospitality
- Welcome members, visitors and guests attending church services, meetings and events.
- Assist with ushering and seating arrangements.
- Help attendees navigate the church premises and access services where required.
- Support worship leaders, ministry leaders and other church workers during services and activities.
- Assist with refreshments before, during or after services and events.
- Help create a warm, welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for everyone attending WGM.
- Premises and Event Support
- Help prepare the church premises before services, meetings and events.
- Set up chairs, equipment, tables, materials and other resources as required.
- Help maintain clean, safe, tidy and presentable facilities.
- Assist with clearing and restoring the premises following activities.
- Report any maintenance, health and safety or facility concerns to the appropriate member of staff.
- Ministry and Community Activities
- Support church programmes, outreach activities and community events.
- Assist ministry teams with practical tasks during activities.
- Support the distribution of church and community resources.
- Help create positive relationships with people from different cultural, ethnic and social backgrounds.

- Resource Distribution
- Distribute service bulletins, flyers, handouts and evangelism materials.
- Keep ministry resources organised, stocked and readily available.
- Assist with preparing materials for church services, outreach activities and special events.

- Work cooperatively with the Lead Minister, ministry leaders, staff and volunteers.
- Take initiative when appropriate while recognising when guidance or approval is required.
- Carry out reasonable tasks that support the effective operation of the ministry.
- Maintain confidentiality and conduct yourself in a professional, respectful and responsible manner.

JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a committed Religious Worker to join our team as a Youth and Teen’s Worker. This role requires a dedicated, born-again Christian with a passion for spreading the Gospel and equipping others for ministry.
- Salary: £19,188 per year
- Hours: 30+ hours per week (including weekends)
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Youth and Teen’s Worker will collaborate with the lead minister to implement and communicate the church’s vision for youth and Teen’s ministry. The role involves planning, coordinating, and leading activities that encourage spiritual growth and community engagement to Youth and Teens.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop opportunities for Youth and Teens to grow spiritually.
- Plan and organise events that support Youth and Teens, and their families.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with parents, carers, youth, Teens and children.
- Conduct regular outreach through calls and personal interactions with both active and inactive Youth and Teens.
- Actively participate in church activities to foster connections with youth/Teens and their families.
- Attend workshops and engage in personal development activities.
- Encourage youth/Teens and family participation in various church initiatives.
- Communicate event plans and activity schedules with parents.
- Align youth/Teens programs with the church’s overall calendar.
